Rubble Kings

TCK Krew on that snake eyes shit…numero 11. Some more 90′s rugged rarities, plus a special jazz set, woven together by DJ Nasty Vaz. Listen for a nice little convo about the SP 1200 during BZAR‘s patented “quick book review” bit. The SP was to hip hop production what the Panzer Panther tank was to German military operation; heavy, metal, and a new standard in technology. Even with such a small amount of memory (just about 10 seconds of sampling time…shorties), producers were able to churn out many of the Golden Era’s classic albums and fortify a sound which, today, many still refer to.

What up BZAR & Vaz

I Got Some Characters!

Those true school PhD holders, Nasty VAZ and The God BZAR, hit us with another episode of TCK‘isms. Numero 10. Come on bee! Vaz rocks those lesser-heard 90′s era remixes and B-sides (extra big up to the New Jersey Drive, Vol. 2 soundtrack)…then proceeds to give a call-n-response treatment to his previous sista soul set (that means men singing their hearts out to their counterparts). Special guest Big DOVES TCK stops by (“AVA-NU DEEEEEEE!!!”) and the gang talk stupid ut amounts of NYC graff history and pay homage.

Funny shit about that “Mad Scientist” sample…listen carefully to the moment Vaz shouts out PTP. If you’ve been paying attention, you already know. If not, you will know very soon.

Peace to our TCK bredren.

True City Killas

Longtime familia, Nasty Vaz and The God Bzar (of the infamous TCK crew) do our senses a favor in serving the first episode of their podcast. With Vaz on the wheels, you need to expect a plethora of not-so-obvious, yet not-so-pretentious, selections…specifically plenty of golden era b-sides, promos, remixes, and originals. This may turn out to be the 21st century version of WKCR’s Night Train show (on which Vaz was a host and partial stand-in DJ, along with Apex, Kinetic, and DJ Eli (Escobar))…which is a great thing. Either way, we hope these cats continue to pump this and offer whatever support, muscle, and Sasha Grey merch we can pull out our sleeves.

Also, shouts to Angelo for the photo above. Heads were a problem at the Nuyo, especially in ’98-’99. So many fond memories.
