Phill Most Chill, a PTP favorite from the city of beards, is at it again with a bugged holiday mix of rarity greatness. Kick back with the coquito (151 and freshly shaved coconuts only) and enjoy this funky Xmas experience. The gifts are here early.
Phill Most Chill, the emcee/producer/digger/writer is set to release All Cuts Recorded Raw, an album of tracks originally from the late 1980′s. It’ll be coming out on In Effect Recordings and in collaboration with Diggers With Gratitude. Everything I’ve heard from the man has been super dope, definitely add it to your collection when it drops in late June. And follow Phill’s Facebook page as he drops audio gems from all genres on the daily to kick back to. Check the snippets from the record below.
…. Multi talented Phill has previously collaborated with DWG on the highly sought after “BE INTELLIGENT EP” (DWG001) and the Paul Nice “NEVA STOP DIGGIN” 7″ (DWG7004)… “ALL CUTS RECORDED RAW” is the album you have been waiting for, don’t sleep!
All ordering information will be announced by DWG during w/c 6th June 2011…
The Philadelphian Phill Most Chill has had plenty of aliases accompanied by plenty of releases, but I wanted to focus on the sample heavy joint Livin’ Foul he released in ’92 under the moniker Baritone Tiplove. The overall aura of this joint reminds me a bit of KMD‘s Black Bastards. It’s packed with ill rhymes and has its instance of hardcore steelo, but at the same time it’s got a funny/youthful side to it. This album needs a rerelease equipped with a promo poster of that loud cover. If you come across it at a reasonable price, don’t hesitate to scoop. And check Phill‘s blog — he drops gems and schools on all genres of music.
