OJ and Zaytoven create another anthem for rebellion.
Juiceman still in the trap with it, obviously. This shit is heavy…definitely shot right up to my top-5 favorite OJ joints of all time. Off of Juice World 2.
Expect to see some familiar faces on production…Lex Luger, Zaytoven, 808 Mafia, Metro Boomin’…as well as Starlito, Cartel MGM, and Gorilla Zoe. Put on 6 Ringz Vol. 2 Then get into Juice World 2 A shitload of La Flare and Scooter visuals dropped today…really ready?
OJ Da Juiceman “Plug Prices” (Feat. Young Scooter)
Young Gila gave this a twist or two…the traphouse drum kit is still an ever omnipresent force in the rhythm section, just in his own mode of interpretation, while the melody falls somewhere between We Are The Streets era L-O-X and an uplifting passage in a Kitaro song: basically, Styles P would probably rap on this and then be deported to a Siberian prison camp due to the copious amounts of bodies he’d be forced to catch on such new age savagery. In the end, it’s copious amounts of substance being transported/forklifted/flown off…etc. – and we are completely good with that. OJ Da Juice Man “Make The Trap Say Aye Gila Monsta Remix” (Feat. Gucci Mane, Produced by Gila Monsta) We had the pleasure of debuting this last night on Fresh Out The Box…plus some other unheard of things from Tree and Hefna Gwap. Do the right thing and hit the FOTB archives for the entire episode + playlist. You probably know what to expect with OJ Da Juiceman…but the addition of Gunplay (on any track) is pretty much a surefire ticket to getting a pleasant surprise…or 16.
Oj Da Juiceman, who was once set to be Brick Squad‘s major star along side Gucci(pre-Waka), looks to recapture some of that momentum he had in 09/10 with his upcoming mixtape, Cook Muzik 2. “I Sell” is solid track but the circus organs of Zaytoven seem like a bygone era in southern rap production with people favoring a much darker and more electronic sound these days. So why post this record? Cause this is PTP and the record features Gunplay. “The Human LA Riot” gets his 2 Chainz “Turn Up” flow on, stretching out the last word in the first bar of every four bars, again showing he’s one of the more versatile artists in the rap sporting contest.
