G-Side drop another video from the rightfully acclaimed LP, iSLAND. The visuals were directed by Matt McGinley and John Turner Jr. Turner also illustrated the artwork for the Cohesive album. Did I spot a type legit throwie in that booth? Someone put me onto a few Alabama writers to look out for.

“Gettin’ It” (Feat. Stalley and Joi Tiffany)
Geng’s note: This is easily one of their most jumbo of joints, clearly showcasing the magical result of coupling the Slow Motion champion tag team of ST and Clova with the symphony-on-roid-rage Block Beattaz sound. POWERFUL.
G Side, the duo responsible for one of our favorite albums of ’11 made their way over to Sundance and ABC News caught up with them for an interview. Power moves 2012. Peace to the whole SMS camp, the quality work rate’s been crazy — they definitely need to make a trip to Fresh Out The Box.
And if any of you film people want to fly out PTP to Sundance next year, that’s cool. We’re film heads too. And we would’ve taken passes to 2012′s The Ambassador, Detropia, Elena, and Finding North.
G-Side leaked a bangerish track that was originally left off a PTP favorite release of ’11, iSLAND. Always a pleasant surprise to find a newly unmasked leftover … completely ethereal and uplifting (in all of the most correct ways).
G-Side shows off one of the extraness tracks from the Japanese release of iSLAND, which we need distribution for stateside. The completists need physical copies of the bonus materials. And if you didn’t know, the group also has a 7″ single out too.
G-Side are certainly not slackers of any type. Not only did they ABSOLUTELY DESTROY their show at the Glasslands (in Brooklyn) last night, but they also crafted one of the year’s best full lengths; the ever cerebral and moody as fuck listening experience known as Island. Here we have a visual treatment to one of our favorites off of the LP, directed by ST, which simply reflects the duo’s two-worlds-colliding creative approach; hardened street wisdom meets vivid imagination with a lighter, almost child-like twist at the end.
“Rabbits”
The “rabbits” doing the “Kid N Play” near the end? Amazing.
G-Side is the shit. Southern hustler rap that ain’t the self-parody that is 99.9% of “trap rap” (at this point). Mucho propers to our fams Alex from Steady Bloggin’ for puttin’ us on to the science.
iSLAND is a trip; one that you will enjoy to the utmost.
