Some Drill Rap

Another day another 20 songs/videos out of Chicago (but here’s just a couple)…

Buck 20 Brick Boyz add some depth to the drill rap sound with an ominous synth line provided by the Chicago conduit, D Gainz. I don’t believe “Gettin Off Dat” will be the mantra of any 12 Step Programs but factually incorrect and humorous lines like, “gone off that shit like a hippie in the eighties” are sure to distract from any withdrawal symptoms for a short time.

Now that I think about it, maybe he’s referring to a hippie who’s been on a 20 year acid trip. It’s a drill koan.

Lil Durk, who even though is locked-up, was able to drop a video for one of the highlights off his latest mixtape I’m Still A Hitta. Is that Lil Durk in the video or did he use his Def Jam advance to create a Lil Durk hologram to keep the streets “hot” while he’s away? I guess only the Drilluminati will know.

Fredo Santana is the most courteous rapper around. If you didn’t hear what he said the first time, he will gladly repeat it over and over again.
