Old Guns, New Bodies

King Louie lets two fly today?! Fine. Good day for Chi-Town “drillthusiasts”…thought to Louie’s cred…he’s kinda the man we see as the ring leader of the style. Some slow-mowing (think Rocky and Q‘s “Brand New Guy”), stuttering drum play alongside a haunting batch of sonar bleeps, strings, and other synthetic organisms in long-drawn form. Not your average trappin’ here. Dope & Shrimp, en route.

Won’t Smoke It If I Can’t Hear It

King Louie sets out to reclaim the Drill-Rap crown with his upcoming mixtape Dope & Shrimp. The first release off it is “#PiDD”, a song that shows he’s on a whole other level than his Chicago contemporaries. Louie’s personality and clever world play can garner him fans from anybody who appreciates the likes of Ghostface Killah to E-40 to any other linguistic gymnast that is a colorful character.
