The Jacka is getting ready to drop the final installment of his street trilogy on June 5th with The Sentence. Hopefully on the latest edition we get to hear an inspired Jack. The Indictment and The Verdict weren’t wack but they did sound like he was just going through the motions. Which is understandable if rhyming some real street shit, are set to blow, then along comes someone from your backyard by the name of Lil B and all the attention on the Bay is paid to him- it may take a minute to regroup and figure out how the hell that happened*. Anyways, “Choosin Up” is a solid outing but The Jacka is so in pocket on this track that it makes me wonder if he really has taken a more laid back approach to rhyming or if he’s just bored with it all? I guess we’ll find out next week.
*Too many white critics who can relate to artsy easier than street.
