PTP + Forty Deuce EVR heatwave! That’s right, our Deuce brethren invited both Nastee and I to man the turntables as temperatures in NYC climbed and the blinding sunbeams gave melt to all wires, wax, and humans in their path. We took shelter in the Forty‘gloo, but well, the anticipated chilly bluster of central air was just not in effect…and you actually hear the effects of this throughout the episode. Really though, technical difficulties, fumbling up titles to vital documentaries on Olde York gang culture (I said “40 Blocks…“…yo I meant to do that, bee…a hybrid between Forty Deuce and 80 Blocks…), and dehydration could not stop us. Cuts, gems, fuckery.
Nastee took on the first hour with a slew of soulful and funky originals…throwing me the perfect alley-. My oop then consisted of more funky shit manhandled on one functioning turntable (plus a treat from the Geng-Grizzly archives at the very end).
Listening fun for the whole family.
