Big week for fans of the Mobb. First, there are two EP’s dropping a day apart from each other: tomorrow, we get the first Prodigy project since his arrival back home, The Ellsworth Bumpy Johnson EP (in conjunction with Complex), followed by the Covert Coup EP as put together by Curren$y and The Alchemist on 4/20 Wednesday (on which Prodigy makes a cameo). Check back soon for the links.
In the meantime, and secondly, Complex conducted a rather lengthy interview with P, as a follow-up to his newly released autobio, My Infamous Life. Click here for a link to P divulging on his deading past beefs with Nas, Jay-Z, and Saigon (at least his lack of interest in continuing with the latter), his initial thoughts on the Wu and Biggie (as in he was supposed to be on “Last Dayz” but felt dude was corny and passed on the opportunity), Capone supposedly testifying against Hav’s brother Killa Black, fights with Lakey The Kid and N.O.R.E., and more. Makes you want to pick that book up, ASAP.
For some audio goodness, check out this unreleased Mobb banger from 5 years ago (as confirmed by the real Havoc, and not his various online clones). It appears on the latest DJ Kay Slay mixtape endeavor, The Strength Of The Gesture. But for those not fully versed in the group’s catalog, this track was originally released on the compilation The Safe Is Cracked in 2009 under the title “What Goes On”.
