DJ Holiday + Rome Fortune have a quick sit-down with Hip Hop At Lunch‘s Mike Boyd. Topics include breaking new records on Streetz 94.5, how Holiday got put on to Rome‘s Beautiful Pimp project, the meaning behind the album cover, and working with Scotty.
Rome Fortune will be back in NYC next week to dance among wolves, again. This time, it will be to celebrate the premiere of his new video, “Get The Guap” (off of the high-hailed Beautiful Pimp). The festivities take place on May 7th, with free booze to boot, courtesy of 1200Squad and Electric Circus.
Before the great falling out of 2013, Noisey attempted to send in a reporter to interview Waka and Gucci at Waka‘s most recent show in NYC but instead dude ends up getting traumededed and put to the challenge of drinking a bottle to the facade.
The homie Skinny Friedman crafted a little mix to illustrate what the human brain sounds like when living on “greek yogurt and prescription amphetamines,” only. Definitely something for the twerkers out there, though don’t expect yourself to just be left at the hands of a popular, uptempo rap single or two…this shit makes some crazy shifts through the land of bass. Furthermore, it also features a few joints that Skinny slapped together for his upcoming release, TRAP RAVE 3.0 (drops in May).
By the way, it’s a mix…that is actually MIXED (kinda rare).

Thursday, February 28, the family will have a nice little outing at NYC’s Santos Party House alongside the legend, Mannie Fresh. This will be a full-fledged party, not a rap show, therefore come through sporting your most finely tailored turn-up suit and hard hats…’cause shit’s gonna get real stupid, real quickly. Freshly Snipes + 4 other professionals playing THAT SHIT: KDS (Ballers Eve), DJ Square Biz (Grits & Biscuits), Farrington G (Dirty Glove Bastard/BLB), and myself (with plenty of PTP fam in tow).
Get your tickets ASAP, they’re not waiting around at all…plus you get a discount for “advanced purchase.”
H3VTH CVR1NG (aka “Heath Caring”) has been whipping up “chopped & screwed experiences” for some time now…or at least “some time” by those zany Internet standards – wherein a literal year translates to an “Internet decade.” Conceptual, all the way, through and though. The most recent reinterpretations lay in the romance of a bed wet with overdose via CVR1NG‘s trademark sonic drug transfusion: respectively, Toro Y Moi‘s Anything In Return and Miguel‘s Kaleidoscope Dream. Not quite the easiest thing to put further into words (just listen and see), but as I’ve tried to make clear before, this is NOT your regular track-by-track, slowed-and-chopped (in Garageband) effort (such that seemingly lurks around every single dark corner on the Internet). No, this is some shit that gets you realizing the power tool element of Robert Earl Jr.‘s genius. Use these (and…plug alert…our Screwing Yourself To Live) to open crusted-over eyes to how we, as a creative populace, have actually progressed in finessing that “perfect (slowed) mood music” since the 90′s. This is for when you want to feel like you’ve been doing loop-de-loops in a F-14 Tomcat with some EXTRA PILLS(!!!) in your MA-1.
Tommy Kruise emerges from out of the mist with this new mix for Fool’s Gold woven together with trap black magic. Expect plenty of bass, chops, and other things that’ll get you reaching for that bottle of drank and/or ziploc fulla gas in seconds, plus some PTP artistry up on there (what up Gila!).

Grip Plyaz recently made his triumphant return at #FUXSHIT4, our monthly party of turnt up chaos here in NYC (this was at The Flat in BK), along with some other (New) Atlanta family on stage (paging XRS, Spree Wilson, and Go Dreamer…plus a surprise performance by Hefna Gwap and the Caviar Group). This is just a cool little clip to give you a hint as to how the beginning of the night went…shit got even crazier later, as expected.
Live performance at The Flat in Brooklyn for a bunch of hipsters and hood n*ggas that are into real trap shit.
Purp, Wind & Fire drops tomorrow…and the next time you’re in town, be sure to check the Ballers Eve x PTP x DGB family out.
